New global benchmark for clean, alternative rail drives
Alstom has shown how well its hydrogen-powered solutions work for long-distance travel.
Unaltered serially built Coradia iLint trains have travelled 1,175 kilometres without refuelling their hydrogen tanks while only generating water and making extremely low noise levels.
The vehicle used for this trip is a member of the LNVG (Landesnahverkehrsgesellschaft Niedersachsen) fleet and has been regularly transporting passengers on the evb (Eisenbahnen und Verkehrsbetriebe Elbe-Weser GmbH) network since mid-August.
Alstom collaborated on the undertaking alongside the engineering and gas business Linde.
