Before the Levenmouth rail link opens, the community is encouraged to drop-in events

18 April 2024 (UK) Before  the  Levenmouth  rail  link  opens,  Network  Rail  is  asking  the  public  to  three  community  drop-in  sessions. Co-hosted  by  ScotRail,  the  sessions  will  offer  information  on  how  to  use  the  new  Cameron  Bridge  and  Leven  stations,  as  well  as  purchase  tickets  and  make  accommodations  for  accessibility. In  addition,  members  of  the  railway  staff  will  talk  about  issues  like  riding  a  bike  and  what  happens  when  services  are  disrupted.  They  will  also  share  easy  safety  tips  for  using  the  train  and  passing  through  stations. Alstom will supply new trains for the Santo Domingo Metro's Line 2 expansion

17 April 2024 (Santo Domingo) Alstom  and  the  Transport  Reordering  Office  (OPRET)  have  inked  a  new  contract  for  the  production,  provision,  and  commissioning  of  eight  (8)  brand-new  Metropolis  family  trains,  each  consisting  of  three  (3)  cars,  for  use  on  Santo  Domingo  Metro  Line  2C. The  new  contract  is  a  significant  step  forward  for  Alstom's  presence  in  the  Dominican  Republic  and  is  completely  financed  by  a  credit  from  the  Central  American  Bank  of  Economic  Integration  (BCIE). Five  stations  are  being  built  as  part  of  the  7.3-kilometer  Santo  Domingo  Metro  Line  2C,  which  is  a  component  of  the  Teleférico  de  Santo  Domingo  integrated  transportation  system. With 100 days remaining, Eurostar is on course for the 2024 Olympics in Paris

17 April 2024 (London, UK) Almost  415,000  tickets  have  been  sold  for  travel  to  the  Games  across  the  Eurostar  network,  which  is  preparing  to  carry  athletes  and  spectators  to  the  2024  Olympic  and  Paralympic  Games  in  Paris. More  than  2,000  Olympic  and  Paralympic  athletes  are  expected  to  travel  with  Eurostar. Indian Railways is one of the busiest railway networks globally, transporting millions of passengers and tons of freight every day. Indian Railways is the fourth-largest railway network in the world by size, spanning over 67,000 kilometers (41,580 miles) of track and connecting thousands of towns and cities across the country. The first train in India ran from Mumbai (then Bombay) to Thane on April 16, 1853. This historic journey covered a distance of 34 kilometers (21 miles) and marked the beginning of the Indian railway system. The locomotive used for this journey was named "Three B". The train was a significant milestone in India's transportation history and laid the foundation for the extensive railway network that exists in the country today.

The £4 billion train control systems framework by Network Rail will transform signaling in the United Kingdom

10 April 2024 (UK) With  a  combination  of  conventional  signalling  and  digital  control,  contemporary  equipment  will  increase  nationwide  reliability  on  Britain's  railways  from  Carlisle  to  Brighton  as  part  of  Network  Rail's  £4  billion,  ten-year  signalling  strategy. Under  its  Train  Control  Systems  Framework,  contracts  for  the  supply  of  traditional  and  digital  signaling  services  have  been  given  to  six  organizations. The  £4  billion  framework  will  be  in  place  from  2024  to  2034  (£3  billion  will  go  toward  digital  signaling  and  £1  billion  for  conventional  signaling). Amtrak Chooses Wilmington Unified Operations Center Construction Contractor

4 April, 2024 (Wilmington, Delaware, US) Wohlsen  Construction  Company,  a  Wilmington,  Delaware-based  company,  was  chosen  by  Amtrak  to  be  the  recipient  of  the  Unified  Operations  Center  (UOC)  Facility  Project  award. In Ortenau, the first trains to enter passenger service relied on batteries rather than fuel

8 April ,  2024 ( Germany ) On  April  8,  2024,  Siemens  Mobility's  first  four  battery-powered  trains  go  into  regular  operation,  making  their  debut  in  Germany. A  private  inaugural  excursion  from  Offenburg  to  Oberkirch  and  back  marked  the  formal  start.  Winfried  Hermann,  the  state  of  Baden-Württemberg's  minister  of  transportation,  was  among  the  many  invited  guests  who  joined  the  trip. TRU extends gratitude to customers following ten days of Huddersfield upgrading work

8 April 2024 (UK) Passengers  traveling  through  Huddersfield  on  the  Transpennine  Route  Upgrade  (TRU)  are  being  thanked  for  their  understanding  and  cooperation  during  the  ten-day  closure  of  a  portion  of  the  train  line. Major  rail  upgrades  between  Huddersfield  and  Ravensthorpe  were  finished  between  Friday,  March  29  and  Sunday,  April  7. Replacement  bus  services  and  diversion  routes  were  used  to  keep  passengers  moving  while  the  upgrades  were  being  completed. First METRONET train built in the region sets out on the inaugural trip

7 April 2024 ( Western  Australia ) A  significant  first  for  local  manufacturing,  the  first  passenger  train  built  in  Western  Australia  in  over  30  years  has  made  its  inaugural  trip. 246  new  C-series  railcars  in  total  will  be  produced  locally  in  Western  Australia. After  a  50-minute  return  trip  on  the  Joondalup  Line  from  Stadium  Station,  hundreds  of  workers  and  community  members  boarded  the  new  METRONET  C-series  train  with  Premier  Roger  Cook  and  Transport  Minister  Rita  Saffioti.
