Alstom successfully completes the delivery of Pune Metro Line 3's inaugural train

From its advanced manufacturing facility in Sricity (Andhra Pradesh),
Alstom has successfully delivered the first Metropolis metro train for the Pune Metro Line 3.
These trains, which are entirely made in India, run at 85 km/h and link the central business center of Shivajinagar, the second-biggest city in Maharashtra, with the IT hotspot of Hinjewadi.
Pune Metro Line Ill is an elevated metro rail project spanning approximately 23 km that links the central business center of Shivajinagar with the IT cluster of Hinjawadi.

These fully made-in-India trains are designed for a maximum safe speed of 90 km/h and an operational speed of 80 km/h. The mock-up car, once manufacturing was completed, was unveiled during an event held at Alstom’s Sri City site on 22 September 2024, in the presence of dignitaries from the Tamil Nadu government, CMRL, and Alstom.
