Alstom and the Transport Reordering Office (OPRET) have inked a new contract for the production, provision, and commissioning of eight (8) brand-new Metropolis family trains, each consisting of three (3) cars, for use on Santo Domingo Metro Line 2C.
The new contract is a significant step forward for Alstom's presence in the Dominican Republic and is completely financed by a credit from the Central American Bank of Economic Integration (BCIE).
Five stations are being built as part of the 7.3-kilometer Santo Domingo Metro Line 2C, which is a component of the Teleférico de Santo Domingo integrated transportation system.
