As part of the redevelopment of Sydney Metro's Central Station, enormous artwork was unveiled.

Rose Nolan's All Alongside of Each Other, a 113 by 19-meter piece of art, currently commands attention in Central Station's brand-new North-South concourse.

One of the largest works of art ever displayed within an Australian railway station, the artwork was commissioned as part of Sydney Metro's once-in-a-century makeover to the iconic station.

The artist intended for the striking graphic form to function as a marker of time and location as commuters progress towards their destination. The terrazzo floor drawing is reminiscent of an athletics track.

With references to the previous ticket office and the brickwork of the northern concourse walls, the artwork's red colour and materials also recall Central Station's architectural history.
