The High-Capacity Signalling (HCS) project aims to replace and significantly upgrade the signalling and train control systems on Perth's passenger rail network, enabling more frequent train services. The federal budget has allocated significant funds for various infrastructure projects across Australia, including Perth's capacity signalling program. This also includes $1.9 billion for road and rail infrastructure in Western Sydney, aimed at improving transportation in the region. Queensland will see $177 million invested in bridge and intersection upgrades along the Warrego Highway, while Tasmania will receive $80 million to upgrade the Lyell Highway between Granton and New Norfolk. South Australia's Princes Highway will benefit from $120 million for interchange upgrades at Mount Barker and Verdun.
