The contract to complete the design and construction of Stage 1 of the Beerburrum to Nambour (B2N) Rail Upgrade has been awarded to a joint venture between John Holland Queensland and Seymour Whyte.
The Beerburrum to Nambour (B2N) Rail Upgrade project has achieved a significant milestone as the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) has awarded the contract for delivering the major rail works package for Stage 1.
This package encompasses the duplication of the rail line between Beerburrum and Beerwah, the straightening of the rail line between Beerburrum and Glass House Mountains, an enhanced park-and-ride facility at Beerburrum, new or improved road overpasses, and upgraded train signaling systems.
This contract award enables the Joint Venture, along with its designers SMEC Australia and WSP Australia, to proceed with finalizing the designs and commence construction of the major works package.
