CrossCountry announces intentions to change the client experience by May 2025 with a larger fleet and more seats

25 March 2024 (UK)

In major capacity increase, rolling stock supplier Beacon Rail has agreed to supply five more Voyager trains to long-distance train operator CrossCountry. The additional seven Voyager trains that were secured in October are supplemented by these five trains.

Beginning in May 2025, 12 additional trains, or 60 additional carriages, will bolster CrossCountry's long-distance services, adding more than 36,000 seats weekly to the capacity on north-south lines.

In addition, rail customers will benefit from longer trains and increased services throughout the network, especially on CrossCountry's busy Reading to Newcastle route, starting in May 2025.
