The public utility business JKP Belgrade Metro and Train has given a multimillion-euro contract to DB Engineering & Consulting, a division of DB E.C.O. Group, for the first underground metro project in the western Balkans.
The largest and most important transport project in the Serbian capital will be implemented through a global joint venture with DB Engineering & Consulting (DB E&C) as the lead partner. The project, which DB E&C will oversee in collaboration with Systra, will revolutionise mobility and sustainability in Belgrade.
Design and construction of Line 1 of the Belgrade Metro project will link the southwest and southeast regions of the city from Eleznik station to Mirijevo station.
The main depot would be in Maki, and the line will be 21.2 kilometres long with 21 stations. The project's goals are to reduce traffic congestion and offer Belgrade a comprehensive public transit system.
