Doncaster welcomes the opening of a brand-new operational training academy by Network Rail and Freightliner

Network Rail and Freightliner invited business leaders on September 27, 2023, to mark the formal opening of its second Operational Training Academy, which is housed in the Doncaster Frenchgate Centre.
The East Coast Main Line - South's in-cab digital signalling will be implemented, and the Operational Training Academy will train Freightliner's goods train drivers for it.
The academy, financed by Network Rail as a component of the East Coast Digital Programme (ECDP), is a significant achievement for both ECDP and Freightliner as it serves as the second facility for driver upskilling in ERTMS operations.
