It may come as a surprise to anyone who has sat through the recorded announcements on a British train, but there are people who actually like them.
Trainspotters have been joined by train audiophiles, who collect recordings of safety, security and timetable announcements and post them on social media. A recent recording of “Great Western Railway on-board announcements” posted to YouTube has been listened to more than 7,000 times.
