John Holland will help Queensland usher in a new era of train production

Through the state-defining Queensland Train production Programme, John Holland is honoured to collaborate with Downer Group and the Queensland Government to enable a new age of train production.

At Torbanlea in the Fraser Coast region, John Holland will design, construct, and commission a cutting-edge, purpose-built train manufacturing plant for Downer.

The Queensland rail network will receive 65 six-car passenger trains thanks to this facility.

Over the course of the programme, the state's historic investment in train manufacturing will support enhanced train services and more than 1,300 employment in Queensland.

The Torbanlea manufacturing plant alone, which John Holland will provide, is anticipated to generate over 300 direct construction employment.

The new trains should arrive in time for the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Brisbane in 2032.
