Joy as travellers begin to experience the benefits of the multimillion-pound renovation of the Ebbw Vale railway line

With the launch of direct train services between Ebbw Vale Town and Newport, the multi-million-pound refurbishment of the Ebbw Vale line has been completed and celebrated.
At a ceremony held in Llanhilleth on February 1st, representatives from the local community, including students from St Illtyd's Primary School,
Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council, Transport for Wales, Network Rail, and the Welsh Government, celebrated the project's conclusion.
The event celebrates the completion of a two-year project in which AmcoGiffen, Siemens, and Network Rail teams delivered a suite of upgrades.

The HCS project will replace and significantly upgrade the signalling and train control systems on Perth's rail network. This will allow more trains to run more frequently, ultimately increasing capacity by 40 percent. The HCS control technology will be housed in the new state-of-the-art Public Transport Operations Control Centre (PTOCC) in East Perth. This facility will serve as a central hub to ensure smooth and safe public transport operations, including incident management.
