Major Nottingham to Lincoln rail proposals, "All Change: The Castle Line"

Plans to increase train speeds along the Nottingham to Lincoln rail route will go into effect on Thursday, May 25.
Midlands Connect is requesting a £18 million investment from the Department for Transport in its Strategic Outline Business Case.
A report titled "All change: The Castle Line" outlines recommendations to increase the allure of train travel, lessen reliance on cars, and boost local economies.
Currently, only 10% of trips between Nottingham and Lincoln are made by train; however, if these plans are approved, trains will travel the whole route at speeds ranging from 75 to 50 miles per hour.
