Milestone For Digital Automatic Coupler: Knorr-Bremse Tests New Electric Contact Coupler

In the development of automated system solutions for digital freight transportation, Knorr-Bremse has made a significant advancement

The new electric contact coupler, which is a crucial part of the DAC, will support end-to-end power and data lines on freight trains

With the e-coupler, Knorr-Bremse is introducing a number of intelligent features to the rail freight industry,

The Knorr Bremse e‑coupler is the first such solution to satisfy all functional criteria within the designated installation parameters,
significantly advancing the DAC rollout throughout Europe's rail freight industry

For the Digital Automatic Coupler, Knorr-Bremse has created a new electric contact coupler (e-coupler) (DAC).

E-couplers serve as a key interface in the digital freight train by connecting power and data lines from the engine all the way to the last freight car.

As a result, they are crucial for the competitive, digital, and intelligent movement of freight by rail.

Alstom has successfully delivered the first trainset for the Taipei Wanda Line
