RS Lease increases its fleet with the addition of up to 65 new Vectron locomotives

RS Lease, Slovakia's leading private railway vehicle lessor, has entered into a framework agreement with Siemens Mobility for the supply of up to 65 Vectron locomotives.
The agreement provides for the rapid delivery of 30 Vectron MS locomotives, with an option to acquire an additional 35 locomotives, including both Vectron Multi System and Vectron Dual Mode variants.RS Lease currently operates a modern fleet of around 90 Vectron
MS locomotives. This new contract offers the company the potential to expand its fleet to as many as 155 locomotives.

The Beerburrum to Nambour (B2N) Rail Upgrade project has achieved a significant milestone as the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) has awarded the contract for delivering the major rail works package for Stage 1. This package encompasses the duplication of the rail line between Beerburrum and Beerwah, the straightening of the rail line between Beerburrum and Glass House Mountains, an enhanced park-and-ride facility at Beerburrum, new or improved road overpasses, and upgraded train signaling systems. This contract award enables the Joint Venture, along with its designers SMEC Australia and WSP Australia, to proceed with finalizing the designs and commence construction of the major works package.
