Saudi Arabia will get Next Generation Intercity Trains from Stadler
05 February 2024 (Riyadh, Saudi Arabia)
Contracts for the sale and maintenance of 10+10 Next Generation Passenger Trains for use on the expanding Saudi Arabian railway network have been agreed by Stadler and Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR).
With the signing of these historic contracts, SAR is moving its railway operation closer to its VISION 2030 ambition.
By agreeing to these landmark contracts, SAR is advancing its railway operations towards its goal of VISION 2030.
The approximate contract volume is 600 million Swiss francs.

The HCS project will replace and significantly upgrade the signalling and train control systems on Perth's rail network. This will allow more trains to run more frequently, ultimately increasing capacity by 40 percent. The HCS control technology will be housed in the new state-of-the-art Public Transport Operations Control Centre (PTOCC) in East Perth. This facility will serve as a central hub to ensure smooth and safe public transport operations, including incident management.
