Siemens is the manufacturer of high-speed rail trainsets chosen by Brightline West

Siemens Mobility (Siemens) has been named the "preferred bidder" to construct train sets for the Brightline West high-speed rail project, which will link Southern California and Las Vegas, the company stated today.
In order to meet Brightline West's 2028 service launch date, the contract calls for the production,
delivery, and testing of ten "American Pioneer 220" (AP 220) train sets.
A 30-year rolling stock maintenance contract is included in this choice,
and it will be carried out at Brightline West's Sloan, Nevada vehicle maintenance facility.

The High-Capacity Signalling (HCS) project aims to replace and significantly upgrade the signalling and train control systems on Perth's passenger rail network, enabling more frequent train services. The federal budget has allocated significant funds for various infrastructure projects across Australia, including Perth's capacity signalling program. This also includes $1.9 billion for road and rail infrastructure in Western Sydney, aimed at improving transportation in the region. Queensland will see $177 million invested in bridge and intersection upgrades along the Warrego Highway, while Tasmania will receive $80 million to upgrade the Lyell Highway between Granton and New Norfolk.
