Siemens Mobility makes an investment in a digital train service facility in Dortmund

In order to accommodate the increasing demand for rail services,
Siemens Mobility is investing about €150 million to enlarge its service facility in Dortmund-Eving to 87,550 m².
A further 12,300 m² service hall with offices, workshops, and a storage area is to be built
in order to accommodate the repair of trains up to 400 meters in length.
When the project is finished, the Siemens Mobility depot in Dortmund, which once covered 70,000 m², will have 157,550 m².

Cairo Metro Line 3 began passenger trial operation on May 15
11 May 2024 (Egypt) The Egyptian Ministry of Transport announced the start of passenger trial operation for the third segment of Phase 3 of Metro Line 3 (3C). 14 May 2024 (Perth, Western Australia) Perth, Western Australia: $300 million has been allocated in the federal budget for METRONET to deliver a capacity signalling program. The High-Capacity Signalling (HCS) project aims to replace and significantly upgrade the signalling and train control systems on Perth's passenger rail network, enabling more frequent train services. The federal budget has allocated significant funds for various infrastructure projects across Australia, including Perth's capacity signalling program. This also includes $1.9 billion for road and rail infrastructure in Western Sydney, aimed at improving transportation in the region. Queensland will see $177 million invested in bridge and intersection upgrades along the Warrego Highway, while Tasmania will receive $80 million to upgrade the Lyell Highway between Granton and New Norfolk. South Australia's Princes Highway will benefit from $120 million for interchange upgrades at Mount Barker and Verdun. Stage 2B of the Canberra Light Rail is set to receive planning funding of $50 million, and Victoria will receive $12 million for the Bridgewater Road and Portland Ring Road intersection upgrade.
