On June 9, service on the high-speed Nuremberg-Erfurt line is inaugurated by Deutsche Bahn's new Franconia-Thuringia Express (FTX).
Driven by the Free States of Thuringia and Bavaria, the state-of-the-art Siemens trains have a top speed of 190 km/h.
The first change-free local transportation link between the Thuringian state capital of Erfurt and the Franconian city of Nuremberg
is the recently opened RE 29 line (Nuremberg – Bamberg – Coburg – Erfurt).
