Stalybridge station reopens as the Transpennine Route Upgrade's first electric trains approach

Industry leaders applaud the most recent improvement work at Stalybridge station, 
which is part of the Transpennine Route improvement and contributes to the future of electric rail travel in the North. 

Over the course of 26 days, engineers worked nonstop to complete their largest phase of work to date, which included complete junction remodel, 
over km of new track, 23 new signals, 13 crossover upgrades, and the installation of new overhead line equipment for future electrification, which will enhance travel along this important route.
