Thales and Knorr-Bremse will work together to automate freight trains

Thales and Knorr-Bremse hope to provide automated features for the Digital Freight Train (DFT) by combining their expertise in Automatic Train Operation (ATO)
Automatic Train Operation will significantly help train drivers in their everyday work and so assist in addressing the industry's impending staffing shortages
as well as enhancing the effectiveness, punctuality, and competitiveness of rail freight.
To contribute to the region's ambitious 2030 climate targets, European rail freight must become the main mode of cargo transportation.
By incorporating automated digital features and functions, Thales and Knorr-Bremse hope to improve the sector's productivity, competitiveness, and adaptability.
