Thales will update the Montréal Métro Blue Line, enhancing train dependability and passenger punctuality

The contract for a CBTC train control system (Communications-Based Train Control) for the Montreal Métro blue Line is given to Thales by the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) after a call for tenders.
The whole current blue line as well as the newly added 6 km blue line extension towards the east will be covered by Thales' SelTracTM signaling system.
By doing this, the network will be greatly updated and the outdated equipment will be replaced, giving consumers better,
more dependable travel experiences and enabling STM to enhance train frequency.
