The first suburban railway line in Tunisia is opened

On March 20, 2023, the Tunis RFR (Rapid Rail Network) opened its doors to its first customers, capping a 13-year project for SYSTRA to enhance services in the Tunisian capital.
Since the spring of 2023, Tunisians have been able to use the first line of the new suburban rail network, which goes by the name of "Line E."
This new route, which will first run from Barcelone station to Bougatfa station, will connect Tunis's downtown with Sidi Hassine Séjoumi.
Greater Tunis as a whole will eventually be linked to the RFR.
