TransPennine Express offers half-price tickets for students traveling on their services

Students can now enjoy greater savings on rail travel by applying a straightforward code with TransPennine Express (TPE).
As freshers move into their new halls and returning students head back to university, TPE is offering a money-saving code that provides half-price tickets to help them out.
Darren Higgins, Commercial Director for TransPennine Express, said: “Whether you’re heading off to university, visiting friends or just fancy exploring a new city, you can now bag yourself a bargain with our student offer.
“With our network serving more than 40 universities across the north of England and Scotland, we’re delighted to be able to offer 50% savings on rail travel to students.”

This package encompasses the duplication of the rail line between Beerburrum and Beerwah, the straightening of the rail line between Beerburrum and Glass House Mountains, an enhanced park-and-ride facility at Beerburrum, new or improved road overpasses, and upgraded train signaling systems. This contract award enables the Joint Venture, along with its designers SMEC Australia and WSP Australia, to proceed with finalizing the designs and commence construction of the major works package.
